      How long does a tourist visa last and how long will I be able to stay in Australia?

      How long you can stay in Australia depends on the type of visitor visa you have. The visa starts on the date it’s granted unless you hold another substantive visa.

      Can I stay longer than 3 months at a time? 

      For some visas you can stay for longer than 3 months but others like the Electronic Travel Authority visa, you can only stay for 3 months.

      Make sure you don’t stay in Australia after your visa expires. If you don’t have another visa that lets you stay, you’ll become an ‘unlawful non-citizen’ and may be removed from the country.
