Do I always need a business travel visa?
In some situations, a visa waiver may be granted. This could be because of:
- your nationality (you can see a list of exemptions)
- the fact you hold a valid stay permit for the Schengen Area
- you already hold a long-stay permit
- your specific status
Can the French authorities issue a Schengen visa?
Yes, this is possible under the following circumstances:
- France is the only place you are visiting on your business trip (it is possible to apply for a multiple-entry visa)
- You are travelling to various states in the Schengen Area but France is your main destination for the purposes of your trip
- You will be travelling to different Schengen states (none of which would be classed as the main destination) but France will be your first entry to the Schengen Area
