Which supporting documents will I need to provide?

Again, the visa wizard tool will be able to help you understand which supporting documents you’ll need to hand in. All of the visa application forms needed (in different languages) can be found in PDF format, here.

As well as the supporting documents identified by the visa wizard tool, you’ll also need to include the training agreement (pdf - in French only) which will have been set up between you, the training provider and the host company in France.

If your work placement is due to go over 90 days, this will need to be agreed by the French authorities, after a request has been put in from your training provider or host company.

Handy tip: If you’re a Canadian national taking part in a work placement in France, you will not need to have your agreement signed by the Préfecture (police station).

What financial plans will I need to have in place for my trip?

Make sure you’ll have enough funds for your trip so that you can look after yourself for the whole time. This will need to be at least 615 Euros (the monthly maintenance allowance paid to those who hold a French scholarship). If your placement is likely to go over 2 months, then the money you receive from the company your placement is with will be taken into account.

Remember, if you’re an intern taking part in the European Union cooperation programme or an intergovernmental scheme, you won’t need to prove your financial situation.
