What documents do I need to apply for a Marriage Visitor visa?
You’ll need a passport or travel document that will be valid for your whole stay in the UK. Remember to check that your passport has a blank page for your visa too.
To support your visa application, you can give:
- details of the marriage or civil partnership and proof that you’ve paid money for some of its costs
- proof that you plan to get married in the UK (this could be a booking confirmation or emails between you and your wedding venue)

If you’ve been married before, you’ll need to show that you’re free to marry or enter into a civil partnership again. You could provide a:
- decree absolute
- death certificate of a previous partner
You might need to provide additional documents depending on your situation.
