You may also need to provide

You could also be asked to provide one of the following:

  • confirmation that you can support yourself and also pay for your course
  • a valid Academic Technology Approval Scheme (ATAS) certificate - this is only needed if your course is about a sensitive subject area and/or your nationality requires it.

Additional documents

Are there any other additional documents I should provide?

You could be asked to provide additional documents if your circumstance require them, but don’t worry, you can read the full list of documents you’ll need to provide, here.

Don’t forget, if you’re asked to have your fingerprints scanned and a photograph taken (also called your biometric information) at the application center, remember to check that you have a blank page available in your passport - this is for your visa!

Do I need additional documents if I’m under the age of 18?

Due to your age, you’ll likely be asked to provide written consent from both of your parents or legal guardians (or one parent if they have sole responsibility). The written consent will need to include:

  • Your visa application
  • Your living and care arrangements in the UK
  • Your travel to the UK

Don’t forget, you’ll need to show your birth certificate or any other government-issued document that has your parents' names on.
