Tourist Short Stay Visa

What do I need to do to get my visa?

If you use the visa wizard, it will give you all of the details on how you can apply for your visa. This will be different based on the country you live in or your nationality.
What supporting documents will I need?

The main reason you’ll need supporting documents is to prove 2 things: that you have enough money to support yourself during your stay and that you really do plan on leaving before the 3 months are over.

Staying for medical care

If your visit is for medical care, you’ll also need to have some documents describing what care you’ll be given and where. Don’t worry, this part is reviewed with the strictest medical confidentiality. No one will share any details about why you’re there.

Here are some useful (French language) resources if you’re coming to France for medical reasons:

  • This document from the Minister of Solidarity and Health covers important info about medical expenses
  • This brochure has everything you need to know about coming to France for healthcare, including practical advice on how to get around.
