Can I work while I’m studying in Italy?

Yes, this is absolutely fine. Your study permit will allow you to work part-time (up to 20 hours per week or for 1,040 hours across the year).

If I receive a job offer when I graduate, can I turn my study permit into a work permit?

Yes, there is no problem doing this. It will just involve you and your new employer starting a contract of stay for work purposes at the One-Stop Immigration Desk (SUI).

If you have graduated or hold a postgraduate degree, this work permit will fall outside of the quota system for migrant flows. For more information, you can speak with the Italian Police Headquarters.
