Your nationality will mostly determine whether or not you need a tourist visa. Each State might have its own guidelines for international visitors when it comes to travel documentation though.

You can apply for a tourist visa if you: 

  • Are a citizen of a third country that doesn’t have a visa liberalisation agreement with the Schengen member states.
  • Have previously been denied entry to Italy (or any other Schengen nation) even though you’re a citizen of a third-world nation with a signed visa liberalisation agreement with the Schengen states.

A Swiss citizen.

A national of a country who has been granted Schengen Visa exemption.
