What reasons can I visit the UK for as an academic on a Standard Visitor visa?

You’re able to visit the UK as an academic, senior doctor or dentist.

What can’t I do on this visa?

• carry out paid or unpaid work for a UK company. This includes as a self-employed person
• claim benefits

• take reoccurring visits to try and live in the UK for a long period of time
